Finally the glass and the bottle get together. Hardy Wines has released its new 187ml (single serve) acrylic wine bottle securely sealed by its own acrylic wine glass, called Shuttle. This tamper-proof bottle is opened by a simple twist-top action, which also releases the glass in which the wine is poured.

"Charge" me silly...
Wireless charging, is it even possible?

By electro-magnetic field induction, the technology is probably possible. But it will require special-made jackets for your gadgets in order for them to be charged wirelessly by this Powermat.

And of course, there is still one cable that goes from the Powermat to the AC wall outlet... That we can never rid ourselves of....

Rollable rubber keyboard have been around for years but they are still not cableless.
This upcoming one with bluetooth is set to steal glances everytime it is used.

Coming soon: Rollable Bluetooth keyboard:

This new keyboard at the FCC’s web site recently. There’s no word on price or a launch date yet, but the rubberized keyboard will be available in red or pink. Thanks to the roll-up design, you can essentially carry a full sized keyboard in your pocket. And because of the Bluetooth support, you’re not limited to using the keyboard with computers that have USB connections. In other words, you should be able to use it with some Bluetooth capable mobile phones.
There also seems to be a USB port if you do want to wire up the keyboard for use or to charge the batteries.

This eliminates those ugly extension blocks!
The drawback is that, a thick wall is required...

Rambler Socket tucks a recoiling extension cable, pinch of genius within your AC outlet:

The Rambler Socket is an in-wall box that contains 1.5 meters of extra cabling along with a traditional AC outlet. Granted, you'll need a pretty deep wall to make something like this work (in theory, of course), but the result is nothing short of brilliant. If your AC cord is long enough, you simply plug it into the socket per usual; if you need a little extra length, the built-in extension cord pulls out with a gentle tug. Once you're done, you simply tug on the cable once more and watch as it recoils back within the wall.

How does the Optical Mouse on a BlackBerry Work?

Bookmark and Share
So there will not be any more trackballs for future Blackberries and Android phones?

So How Does that Optical Mouse on a BlackBerry Work, Anyway?: "

The timing on this look under the hood of an optical mouse is pretty good. Earlier today, Sprint announced availability of the BlackBerry Curve 8530 for a low $49.99 and it sports one of those optical trackpads. I got my first look at one with the Curve 8520 and before I even touched the device, I wondered how well the itty-bitty trackpad would work. Turns out it works quite well, but I still wanted to know how. Lucky me — the official Inside BlackBerry blog reveals how this magical mouse works today.

Turns out there’s an LED sensor under the small trackpad, just like the kind you’d see under an optical mouse. Only this sensor reads up instead of down and you move your finger instead of moving a device. Light from the LED reflects back from your moving digit and hits a sensor where the movement is converted into X- and Y-axis changes. (And here you thought you’d never use that simple third-grade geometry again!)

Thin and slim.... How much slimmer can it get before it gets anorexic?

1_r

2.6mm thickness, That’s the measured thickness for the 42-inch LG LCD TV.

Even though the TV is super-duper crazy thin, it still maintains top-tier specs: 1080p, 120Hz, and edge-lit LED backlighting. The set weighs in at only 4 kilograms too, which LG says makes it perfect for wall mounting. That’s light enough that duct tape could hold it up. Or push-pins.

LG will reveal more about the set in a few weeks at CES and we’ll be there to make even more jokes about how thin the TV is.

Intel's next generation Atom chips has been announced in their roadmap.

Earth friendly but let's hope we are not too late in saving the earth with these sexy cpu chips!

Get ready for the next generation of netbooks and nettops: Intel's just officially announced the Pine Trail Atom N450, D410, and D510, along with the NM10 Express chipset, and we should see over 80 machines with the 45-nanometer chips at CES 2010.

Nothing too surprising about the 1.66GHz chips themselves, which integrate the memory controller and Intel graphics directly onto the CPU die: the N450 is targeted at netbooks, while the single-core D410 and dual-core D510 are designed for nettops, and each chip should use about 20 percent less power than its predecessor.

Review: Panasonic 360 Degree Quick Iron

Bookmark and Share
This one may not be a tech gadget... But it'll sure make the Missus look hell sexy when she's ironing your underpants!

Review: Panasonic 360 Degree Quick Iron: "

This is an iron that promises to increase your ironing speed by up to 25% thanks to a symmetrical titanium soleplate, which allows you to iron forwards, backwards, left, and right with ease. It doesn’t make ironing any more exciting but with a street price of around $40, it’s a solidly-built and attractive iron if you’re in the market for one.

W750TS

There are three versions currently available – I took the mid-range $50 (MSRP) NI-W750TS for a spin. The main feature of the iron is the titanium soleplate, which is shaped in such a way so as to allow for ironing in any direction with minimal friction.

I found it to work well going straight forwards and backwards, and left and right, although changing directions tended to cause a little bit of bunching on the clothes I ironed. Overall, though, it’s a much smoother ride than you’d get with a regular iron.

There’s also a vertical steaming function, which lets you steam a shirt or dress while it’s on a hanger – a nice touch if you just need to quickly de-wrinkle your outfit before work without pulling out the ironing board.

The iron itself looks dapper and feels solid. The outer casing and handle is made of a tough plastic and the titanium soleplate gives everything some nice heft. The plate juts out a little bit from the rest of the body, which makes it easy to see where you’re ironing.

NI-W750TS500Up

Panasonic promises up to 25% faster ironing, which assumes that you’ll be able to efficiently iron a garment quickly using back and forth lines. If you iron a lot, you’ll probably find that you can iron more quickly with this thing, sure. If you’re like me and you avoid wearing pressed shirts, you’ll still fumble around with the iron until you remember what you’re doing.

All in all, it’s a solid iron with nice features for the price. Available from Panasonic for $50, or you can find it for around $40 elsewhere.
